Bill/Resolution | HR460 PN2673 A05141 | Type of Motion | Adopt Amendment |
Maker of Motion | Rep. Longietti | Seconded by | Rep. Wagner |
Brief Description |
This amendment requires the commission to include the state along with the school districts in identifying improvements that need to be made in fulfilling the requirements of the state's accountability system; not just putting the responsibility on the school districts as currently stated in the resolution; ensures that appropriate measures of accountability are used when allocating funds; deletes current language stating that"the commission must review methods that attempt to link adequate & equitable funding to a system of accountability" and replaces it with language stating that the commission must review systems that assist in determining student achievement such as value-added assessment systems; deletes current language that would have allowed the commission to "review potential local cost control mechanisms that may become necessary should the recommendation lead to the state's assuming greater funding responsibility" and replaces it with language that requires the commission to review and incorporate recommendations from the November 2007 Report; Task Force on School Cost Reduction in the commission's final report.
