Brief Description
This bill prohibits deceptive practices employed by purveyors of spyware. The bill addresses the conduct of distributors of spyware, including deceptive delivery of software, secret collection of information, unwanted interference with the function of the computer and the resistance to the removal of spyware. Actions may be brought by the local district attorneys and the Attorney General. The penalty for someone found guilty of intentionally transmitting spyware is a felony of the second degree, minimum prison term of ten years and a $25,000 fine.
