This amendment would require the Dept. of Education to post a list of the urban school districts identified as having a critical shortage of certified teachers on its internet website and update the list semi annually; a scholarship recipient who does not complete the 5 years of teaching in an urban public school district to refund any scholarships received within one year of leaving the district. However, a waiver of the repayment clause is included for teachers who leave the district due to an administrative action on the part of the school district or for illness or parental leave. The Dept. of Ed to provide an annual report on the program to the Education Committees of the House and Senate and post the report on its internet website by April 1 of each year.
