This amendment would only require mandatory participation in the BEST Program for beginning educators employed in eligible school districts that apply for funding for this program. It would be at the discretion and option of the school district to apply for funding under this program. It would also remove the requirement that the performance based assessment be used as a condition of the educator's professional certification.
